Crowned In Flowers

Create a heartfelt female figure using watercolor, pencil, and acrylic on plaster, enhanced by encaustic wax and poetic elements.

I’m so delighted to finally share this lesson with you and I truly hope you enjoy it! As mentioned before, I originally filmed this for my online class - Poetic Plaster & Wax.

Let me talk to you a little bit more about this piece...

This one is close to my heart. I knew I wanted to create a female figure for my primary focal point but I didn’t know how much she would capture my heart. Using watercolor, pencil  and acrylic paint was a delight on the smooth plaster surface. The piece is highlighted by beautiful texture created with a layering of plaster patterns made with stencils. Encasing her in encaustic wax medium was the finishing touch! Since this class had a poetic influence, I added a poem too!

Let’s begin!
