Some of the best advice I ever received on painting skies was to look at the clouds through a blurred lens. I don’t know if you have a manual camera, but if you do, take some pictures of skies out of focus and see how that affects your painting.Sometimes, we get so fixated on painting every little detail that we lose the big picture and the piece ends up feeling constrained and overworked. With this class, my hope is to help you create an “essence” versus an “exact replication” of landscapes and seascapes.
