To inspire my artwork, I’ve always looked to symbols and images from around the globe. I love to explore color, symbolism, and composition. Recently, I’ve been drawn to one area in particular: Polynesia. The blue-greens of the ocean, bright colors of flowers, and sweet songbirds -- they capture my imagination.
This class is guided by my love of nature and spins out of my curiosity and interest in Polynesian culture and art. I am so happy to share with you what I’ve learned!
If you’re a new artist or feeling unsure of yourself, don’t worry. We’ll be working step-by-step through the projects. I encourage you to take a lighthearted and playful approach to your painting. You don’t even need to know how to draw! I’ll show you some of my favorite ways to add lettering and drawings to paintings that are simple and help you feel at ease.
