Soul Connection Collage

Journal Lesson

Combine photography and collage to capture emotion and connection in our journaling session.

Before I finally dedicated myself to learning how to paint and draw, I was very much into photography. Even then I was very much interested in creating emotive portraits. I have always been fascinated by human emotion and connection.

Are you ready for a fun prompt to incorporate your own photography into a collage while doing some soul searching in our journals? I am using a self portrait, because that’s how I express myself but feel free to use anything you want to. Maybe a beautiful home or castle in you area, your family, your pets... even abstract imagery if that’s what excites you.

I used a Hahnemuhle Kraft paper booklet and 2 music sheets and dried teabags for my ephemera. Use archival ink pads if you want to stamp them.

  • Gel matte medium (I use Golden, but there are other more budget friendly brands)
  • Matt Medium by Winsor & Newton (totally optional)
  • Transparent acrylic ink set by Liquitex.
