Whispers of Wisdom

Discover your inner wisdom, making intuitive art & oracle cards.

The more I encounter that voice, the more I trust it and the louder it gets. Intuitive art is one of my favorite ways to create and play. It allows me to express myself without restraint or judgement. It helps me embrace the inner critic and bring forward my inner muse. Both voices hold valuable wisdom for me and can guide me on my creative journey.

How do I hear these voices more clearly?

One tool I've used to build trust with my inner wisdom is a set of oracle cards. I've been collecting and creating oracle cards for more than two decades and have amassed quite the collection. Each deck I have purchased holds a special voice that offers guidance and support for all kinds of questions, situations, and paths. But when I started to make my own personalized oracle cards I realized that MY VOICE was the one with the most specific and accurate guidance of all. This is when I began to teach others how to make their own cards.

In this creative session I hope to help you tap into your most expressive & intuitive parts by guiding you through a few no-stress exercises designed to reconnect you to your inner wise self. We will play with abstraction, collage, themes, symbols, and intentional creativity to build our very own oracle, inspiration, or affirmation deck.

You don't need any prior experience with oracle cards. You don't need to know how to draw or paint faces, people, or animals. You just need an open heart and an open mind and you can create a powerful and potent set of cards that can act as guidance from the wisest, most creative, most compassionate parts of yourself.

I'll walk you through two easy and fairly quick ways to create your cards and teach you two easy ways to consult them for guidance.

  • A journal and pen for writing, thinking, musing.
  • Heavy watercolor or mixed media paper (150lbs/300 gsm) -- at least 5 sheets that are at least 9 x 12
  • 3 or 4 sheets of copy paper or sturdy deli paper -- at least 8.5 x 11
  • A glue stick or any fast grab, quick dry glue -- I use Fabri-Tac or Fabri-Fix or Beacon 3-in-1
  • Cutting tools -- either scissors OR an x-acto knife OR a paper trimmer
  • A metal ruler to use as a straight edge for tearing paper
  • At least four paint colors of your choice along with black and white). Any medium is fine -- watercolor, gouache, acrylic, craft paint, tempera, fluid acrylics, etc. (choose a paint that does not need to set or be fixed)
  • Gesso (OPTIONAL) -- white, black, or clear
  • A heat tool or hair dryer (OPTIONAL)
  • Mark-making tools and materials -- whatever you have will be fine.
  • A black marker, pen, or ink with a dip pen.
  • OPTIONAL -- gel pens, gold paint pens or gold paint, stencils, stamps, and colored pencils, etc.
