This wonderful Mixed Media and encaustic project is part of my Flight & Feather Class! It is a favorite of my students, so I decided to pull this sweet lesson from the workshop and offer it for free so it could be available to more students!

To get started, let's talk supplies...

Please use what you HAVE! It is not my intention at all to have you purchase everything on the list. Buy only what you think you will use. There are a number of essential materials needed as noted below. Let me know if you have questions.

*Essential Supplies

rigid substrate* - wood board, canvas board or clay board (I used a 6" x 6")
collage papers*
hake brushes
acrylic or craft paints in colors you like* (I stayed in soft teals but your don't have to.)
- (colors I used - Martha Stewart Craft paints - Sea Lavender, Cloud, Beach Glass, Mermaid Teal)
encaustic medium*
scissors*
black gelato or black oil pastel
painters tape*
paint brushes*
baby wipes
painters tape
white acrylic paint*
ball stylus or something sharp to carve into the wax*
matte medium* or glue
white encaustic paint*
small feather
gold leaf
gold acrylic paint
